Yom Ha'atzmaut: Hatikva

This is a traditional song that is sung during Yom Ha'atzmaut; it is the national anthem of Israel.

Hebrew:

Kol od belevav penimah, nefesh Yehudi homeah,
Ulefatey mizrach kadima, ayin letzion tzofia,
Od lo avda tikvateynu, hatikva bat shnot alpayim,
Lehiyot am chofshi beartzeinu, eretz tzion veerushalayim.
Lehiyot am chofshi beartzeinu, eretz tzion veerushalayim.

English:

As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart,
With eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion,
Then our hope—the two-thousand-year-old hope—will not be lost:
To be a free people in our land, the land of Zion and Jerusalem.
